Eight? How can that be possible?

Happy birthday, Schuyler. You mean more to me than I know how to say, although I'll never stop trying.

(By the way, if you've sent Schuyler anything from Amazon, please drop me a line and let me know. They keep coming from third party vendors with no indication of who sent them.)

I can't believe Schuyler is turning eight today! I've been reading you since way before she was born, so it kind of blows my mind.

Happy Birthday, Schuyler! I hope you have a great day, and get all that your heart desires.

I'd forgotten that Schuyler has the same birthday as my daughter and that's one of the reasons I was drawn to her and your blog! Happy birthday Schuyler and E!

I was a freshman in college the year Schuyler was born. I'm not sure if you posted about it on her birthday, or the day after, but either way, I was one of the few remaining people on campus, finishing up my finals. My room was emptied out for the holiday, and that included my computer. All that was left was a radio, and I was bored and restless, so I parked it in the library. That library has since been redone, but eight years ago it was still a tricked out 70's style, with atrocious orange carpet and paneled walls and poor lighting and it had this marvelous musty smell--I used to camp it by these big picture windows and read for hours. Anyway, it was me and a few librarians late at night, and I was lonely and aimlessly surfing the web, and I remember checking your website and there it was -- Schuyler had been born!

Schuyler, you've touched so many people throughout your life, and you'll reach so many more, but know that there have been people--complete strangers--who were thrilled from the beginning that you'd entered the world, and haven't stopped being excited about you, and for you, going on eight years now. Happy Birthday!

I hate to be the voice of dissent, but I can't believe that Schuyler is ONLY eight. She seems much older. If I believed in this stuff, I would say that she seems to have an 'old soul.'

And gosh, she looks like her momma! I hope that she has a fantastic birthday and enjoys herself immensely. And that she gets lots of crap ;)
