My new favorite writer

Schuyler is now featured on part of their website, the section concerning Language. It's actually a really good primer for learning about the BBoW, if you're interested. Also, a couple of her friends from the Box Class are there, including her girl crush, Sara.

If you want to skip straight to Schuyler, her moment in the spotlight (including a fairly relaxed attitude towards the spelling of her name, but they got closer than most people do) is under Putting Symbols Together. Even better, some of her writing samples are featured. She reflects on the transient nature of childhood experience, and she lays out a little earth science as well.

Well, they spelled Schuyler's name right the first time... and then wrong twice. o_O

If you don't mind, Rob, how do you pronounce her name anyway? I heard it's a variation on "Skylar", but that was a really random website.

Also, hi, first comment here. ^^ I love your writing, and Schuyler's adorable. And brave - I love hearing her school stories (at least she isn't a pusharound!).

How great. Some pretty typical thought sequences for 5-7 year olds too. I'm so glad the Box is able to give Schuyler a voice and an outlet for her imagination. I can't wait to see/hear how her use of BBoW progresses over the next few years especially.

Good news- her grammar and structure are as goofy as any other six-year-old's. :)

And thus, was born a star.

Did a little poking around on the BBoW website, and am convincedthat there are plenny-smart people in this world who use their powers for good, because that company's doing it. This former wannabe speech therapist gives a big thumbs up.

how fabulous is that? oh, and took the kids to the pirates movie last night and my 7 year old son had to leave during the middle part of it because he was scared, but we came back in @ the end.

schuyler's tougher than him! lol!

Lovely featurette of your beautiful, talented kiddo. Ditto to all the comments about improperly spelling Schuyler's name, and doing so in inconsistent ways. Fairly common in corporate Americur these days, I guess. ;)

And I'm probably one of the really random website's that has posted the proper pronunciation of Schuyler's name because my parents and brother still mis-pronounce it and I have to stop, crinkle my forehead and, stupidly go, "Uhm... are you asking about Rob and Schuyler?" while emphasizing the proper pronunciation of her name. I guess it bugs me only because I was totally saying it wrong once, until a post from Rob on Darn-Tootin' set me straight. I hate when people goof up other people's names... I'm called Sharon and Janet and all sorts of weird variations of Shannon, and I always have to spell it for people else it somehow grows new vowels, and Shennen and Shannen.

End of /me me me segment of comment.

Schuyler rocks. That's all I really needed to say. :)

Way cool...I know a famous person now. Seriously, I do think it is rather neat she is helping other kids and parents to learn the bbow!

Is it okay to say that's fucking awesome? Because it is. Also I feel a bit silly saying it since I don't even know the Rum-Hud's personally, but I'm so proud of your girl. So cool.
