Quality

This week at Support for Special Needs, I've written about the awful story of the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia's shameful treatment of a little girl with a developmental disability in need of a kidney transplant. If you haven't read about it, I hope you had a nice weekend offline. Because, seriously, it has generated more outrage and action online than I have seen in a long time. And rightly so.

Exciting News: Look for me at Support for Special Needs weekly now. (Or weakly, if you don't care for my writing. You know who you are.)

Thank you Robert! I will add your blog posts to Amelia's petition site. Currently we have almost 50 blog posts written by people all over the world supporting this little girl and her family!

I've been waiting to hear your view:-) Sometimes I curse technology, but what an amazing outpouring from around the world. A very positive side to all this social media!

Thanks for bringing that up! I heard about this over at Love That Max and I went right over and signed that petition. I cannot believe that doctors could be so completely heartless. That little girl deserves to live!

Thank you, thank you, thank you Rob. This story is heartwrenching, appalling and downright unbelievable in 2012. Then again, I think, maybe not. Cause, there but for the grace of God go I, you know.
CHOP is about 10 minutes from me here in Philly. There is talk of a rally there. I will be there if there is one. This family needs to know they are not alone and that others stand with them.
Thank you for a beautiful post.

Robert, will you be posting links to your weekly articles at Support for Special Needs (congratulations!) on your blog? I follow your blog through an rss feed, and I don't want to miss your posts at SfSN.

This post at SfSN really hits the nail on the head. People make terrible value judgments about the lives of people with developmental disabilities, and this is one of the most awful examples I've ever seen. Thank you for exposing me to it.

I'm so glad that you're on this. Because you're the man, seriously.

I'll do all I can to help. Am local and have some experience with CHOP personally.

Like some of your other readers, I signed the petition and was curious what you would have to say about this. Thanks for always putting the ideas and the words together so well.
