Sad day in Texas

Well, crap.

Molly Ivins has died, after a long battle with breast cancer.

Following as it does the death of Ann Richards, Molly's passing further thins the already shaky list of worth-a-shit Texans. When I think of her, I think of one of my favorite sayings. "Comfort the disturbed. Disturb the comfortable." It'll be harder work without her in the world.

I have heard that quote several times before and love it but I never knew who said it. Now I will have to go learn more about her.

Well, now.

Molly and Ann are up there sippin' on some sweet tea and watching the Texas sunset together.

Lovely ladies and true Texans both.

Godspeed, Molly. We'll miss you and your wry words.

A sad day everywhere.

She will be missed.

I recall a few years ago there was some discussion here in Texas as to what motto might be printed on our license plates.

With great perceptivity Molly suggested "Drive Friendly or Die".
