Rob, I don't know if your publicist has deals with any particular chain of stores. (Barnes and Noble seems to be a favorite.) But if you come to Kentucky, consider Joseph-Beth Booksellers. They're an independent chain (only five stores) that started in Lexington, KY. They're a really cool place, very fun (with a cafe and a lake with ducks and a great children's area if Schuyler tags along). I just checked their website and I can't believe it has no pictures! Anyhow, we would love to come see you, but Lexington is much closer to home than Nashville.
WOW!!!!!
Look at you, Mr. Publishers-Don't-Do-Book-Tours!
Where can I buy the tee-shirt?
Heh, don't be TOO impressed. I'm driving.
Schuyler should have her own line of t-shirts. My favorite was always the one that said "No comment." And Good Housekeeping ran the one that says "Silent but deadly."
Karen, there's no specific agreement, it was just easy to go through Barnes & Noble for this particular tour since they have big stores in all the cities. I like Book People in Austin, but the Arboretum is my old store, and I really wanted to go back there.
I cannot wait to read your book Rob. Too bad I do not see any West Coast dates yet. YET
Come on - Florida!!
I'm excited to see Chicago on the list. My mom is a speech pathologist and goes to the ASHA convention every year. This year it's in Chicago, where we live. It looks like I'll be tagging along downtown this November.
Will you be speaking?
Will you be speaking?
I don't think so, not that I've been informed yet, anyway. I believe I'll be there as part of the Prentke-Romich team, representing at their table. But the details are still up in the air.
Entirely too many Texas towns and not enough California. But,given that you live in Texas, I guess I'll be impressed with how many people want you. Congratulations, Mr. Fancy Pants.
Woohoo! You're coming to Nashville! I get to meet The Rob! :)
Hey, Rob! I haven't talked to you in quite sometime, but this is Lars out in Portland. We worked together a few years ago. I can't wait to read the book, as I am sure it will be great. I hope that you can make it out to Portland or Seattle to promote the book. Congratulations once again! I hope things are going well for you and your family.
Rob, just coming via wondertime to tell you how much I loved your piece in there--it was moving and unsentimental and your family is beautiful. Congratulations on your book, which I am looking forward to reading.
yours very truly,
Catherine
Can't wait to finally meet you! (in NYC)
OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG! Nashville! YAAAAAAAAY!
Ahem.
Well.
Please forgive stalker-ish reaction. We promise not to misbehave. But they always have good security, just in case.
We shall be there with books ready to be signed. And handshakes ready to be offered. I imagine Miss Schuyler is too grown-up now to be much interested in a 3-year-old, but Baby Fishmouth will be very pleased to meet "the big girl in the book." (Anything involving big girls is heaven to her now. Y'all have been through that phase already.)
By the way, when y'all are in Nashville, feel free to visit Davis-Kidd Booksellers (now owned by the Joseph-Beth folks, but a longtime Nashville tradition) if you're not contractually obligated to stay out of other bookstores. The kids' part is fantastic, and we can offer suggestions for avoiding the traffic.
We continue to be so proud and excited for y'all.

Well, it's highly doubtful that Schuyler will be with me at very many of the out-of-town events, sorry to say.
No Toronto, huh? Yet??
From just another gen-x slacker to 'keynote speaker'!
Wow, talk about yet another pair of fancy pants!!!
Congratulations!
Woo hoo! Tomorrow, your countdown will be in the single digits.
Hey you have one fan in Detroit. July is a good time to visit, hopefully it works out:-)
Aw, shoot, Rob. You aren't scheduled for middle-of-nowhere southeast PA! Darn...we could use some fancy pants around here. Congrats...I'm thrilled to pieces for you. I hope Schuyler is loving this stuff. You've got to take her to the bookstore so she can see herself on the shelves when the book comes out!

Aw. Well, that just means we can drop the f-bomb more freely, sans chirren.
Heh.
But still -- YAY!
See you in Houston. Questions:
Will I have to buy the book at B&N in order to get it signed? I suspect the answer to that is yes.
Will success spoil Robert Rummel-Hudson?

No, I don't believe so. That would seem kind of shitty.

Hopefully I'll be able to let you know soon.
Make that two fans in Detroit. :-) (Ypsi, to be specific)
I suppose if there's no Toronto date, Detroit will suffice. I smell road trip!
