As part of the upcoming article in the March 2008 issue of Wondertime Magazine, you may now read a web exclusive interview I did as a supplement to the print article.
If you read it and find yourself wondering if I really am that eloquent, or if Wondertime was able to edit out all the "um"s and sputters and parenthetical blathering that I am prone to when actually speaking rather than writing, well, I'm going to say that I am just that naturally well-spoken.

Rob, I so apprecaite that you give voice to what so many of us go through in our parenting and marital challenges. It's not important what the specific disabilities or challenges are for our children (I mean in this particular context). What matters is that we can all relate to the struggle, the unexpected gifts and discoveries.
Sure, WT made you sound really great...but I think you are ALL that! :-)
Great interview. I loved hearing about Schuyler's writing...and the way she uses both her device and the "traditional" pencil and paper. I look forward to reading her blog someday.
Even as the parent of a (so far) neurotypical toddler, I think I'm going to freak out a little once he starts writing. I'm still having a hard time remembering that he's silently memorizing my foul language in the car so he can present it to his grandparents one day and show the quality of his raising. Has Schuyler dropped any f-bombs on you yet via the Big Box?
I read the Good Housekeeping article last night and was very moved by Schuyler's story. She is remarkable, but remember remarkable children come from remarkable parents!!! You and your wife are in inspiration with both your strength and humor with the situation you are in. I am sure that your daughter will continue to be the person you allow her to be. Keep up the fight and as the article mentions you trust your parents heart and do what is right for your child. NO ONE knows her like you.

Great interview - my favorite statement is: ""A sort of intimacy is already granted. We have these meetings, and when we're talking no one's trying to convince us that everything's okay. You just start off conversations with, "Well, this is what sucks this week." And no one's afraid of looking like they don't care about their child. We don't have time to be pretty.""
