I wasn't too smart back then, either.

For those of you who don't know that I was married previously, this might come as a bit of a surprise, but I realized something at lunch.

If I was still married to the First Mrs. Rob, today would be my twentieth wedding anniversary.

Man oh man. I feel a little like the dinosaur who managed to pull his foot free from the tar pit and walk away...

Happy, um, not anniversary?

Had that marriage lasted, you wouldn't have Julie & Schuyler. Let me wish you a happy Good Call Day.

Oh, don't I know it!

What? What first Mrs. Rob? Were you a teenager or something?

I'v been reading this blog since your Detroit days and had no idea. Looks like you can still keep some privacy on the internet!

Happy ex-anniversary?

You know, this is going to sound lame, but it's absolutely true. It just never came up.

Dude.

You now officially have no secrets from teh Innernets.

After this and the thing about your drawers, you know.

Glad the starter marriage (with the apparent child bride and groom) led to a much more wonderful situation for all concerned. Smooches.

What's funny is that today is the 9th wedding anniversary of my dad and his, erm, third (as in TOTAL charm) wife. The first two (my mother was the second) were just...no. Think Enemy of Fun's predecessors. As my dad puts it, "Getting divorced twice was the best thing that ever happened to me!" Narrow escapes, good calls, and happily ever afters - all exist, all good.

what were ya married for ten seconds when you were 19? What are you, Brittany Spears?

happy unanniversary. Make sure you let Julie know how much you love her m'kay?

A very merry un-wedding day, to you!

(From Alice in Wonderland... "A very merry unbirthday...")

Jackie, I love that we've known each other long enough that you remember the Enemy of Fun.

And weren't you the Idiot Manchild, ro something to that effect? I second the Good Call Day.

Heh. We don't know each other at all, but I remember the Enemy of Fun. Yes, I use that name on people sometimes. Well, it's so apt. Happy Solstice!

A long time ago, Beth from www.xeney.com refered to her husband as "the enemy of fun" and wrote how that nickname was coined by you in reference to your ex-wife. She linked your page, and I just had to click on the link, thinking anyone who came up with such a creative nickname for his ex, just had to be cool. and now i've been addicted to your site ever since :)

Wow, your brief post made me think about my first husband...and it would have been 21 YEARS.
I don't feel as bad about my previous marriage though (don't feel like it was a pit).
I don't regret the marriage. And I don't regret the divorce.

Greetings from England. Don't feel bad December is my 34th year. And I was married before;-)

Rob, not only that, but I recently said to my boyfriend, "I don't want you to think I'm the Enemy of Fun." (This was my explanation for why I was happy for him to go straight from the office to the pub to watch World Cup football after I'd just got home from a week abroad.)
