UPDATE:Okay, I closed the poll a little early since I needed to print up the results, and they were running pretty consistently. Thank you, and just to let you know how much I appreciate your help, here's an amusing and wildly unattractive photo of me.
(And before you feel inclined to say anything "helpful" about my new Ahab look, I did in fact finish shaving it off after taking this photo. And, you know, after cracking myself up. I am easily amused.)

Am I being incredibly optimistic in hoping that you are taking this poll to influence where you go on your book signing tour? If so, you might want to wait a couple of months after the book comes out to visit the area in which I live (it's a bit cold up here that time of year) but we'd love to have you in the far upper reaches of the midwest.
Just curious about the numbers before my meeting next week. I have no idea if there's even going to be a book tour (they are becoming increasingly rare, especially for first-time authors). I just want some numbers at my fingertips if anyone asks. I'd love to go anywhere they send me.
(Having said that, if there are a lot of Hawaiians reading out there, please write to St. Martin's and demand a book tour. I promise I'll stay sober for most of it.)
Vote #2 for the Upper Midwest!!!
Chicago, Milwaukee, Twin Cities, Madison...it's all good!
Vote well, vote often!
I voted the South - but I live in South Florida - that would kinda be like a vacation too!
I live in Arkansas . . . Arkansas considers itself the South but there are other people who consider it the midwest.
SO I put THE SOUTH!.
So funny you would post this because driving home today I was just pondering the question of a book tour for you and I went to look on the book site to see if there was any mention of it. Now that I think about it, isn't it weird to ponder situations regarding people you don't even know in real life? Do you do that? I bet you do ;)
I think you would make a great Amish dude.
I think you would make a great Amish dude.
So glad i'm not the only one who thought amish, although don't know why but you also reminds me of a santa in training.
anonymous here again -- I noticed the midwest was falling behind. Makes me wish we were all in one room so I could run from computer to computer and vote for the rest of your readers while they're having lunch and hitting the bathroom. Damn.
HUMPH!!!!!!!!!
What about Canada? Toronto and environs is pretty major I'd say and I plan to buy your book...or maybe not, now nyah nyah nyah
(FYI I actually voted Pacific Northwest since my daughter, son-in-law and grandkids are there- any feeble, poor excuse for a visit....)
feeling-left-out Grammacello
You need come to Michigan....River Town Crossing Mall in Grandville...
I'll buy you the best chilli dog you've ever had....
Just saying...
Are Americans even allowed into Canada still? I thought we were only allowed into Coalition of the Willing countries now. I was looking forward to Romania, too.
i started reading darn tootin' when i live in NC...you should go there, too. the blue ridge rocks...so does all of NC.but you know where i am now. yee haw.
you should do one of those eventful.com things.
we demand rob & schuyler in our city!
maybe i'll vote again, like they do in the legislature. i have several friends i could vote for....
Me=Virginia, only 2.5 hours from D.C.
Amish; agree. :)
I thought you looked sort of like a cross between Abe Lincoln and a young Garrison Keillor.
And I'm in the Northeast. In a blue state. Very blue.
How many emails do I need to send to St. Martin's? Just because I'm in Hawaii doesn't mean I should miss out on the Rob and Schuyler Show! I'll provide all the mai tais and lava flows you can drink...
I took the poll, Ishmael.
Well, if you make it to Romania, I propose you come to the Netherlands too... Or is that a country not Willing enough? ;)
I would second the vote for the River Town Crossing Mall in Grandville, which is actually sort of almost Grand Rapids. You would be guaranteed at least two attendees!
Hey, I'd come down if you showed up at Kalamazoo, too. Or Detroit. Or Chicago. Take your pick! Michigan is so pretty in the fall. But you have to hurry. As you no doubt recall, winter has no patience for fall around here.
Come to the Pittsburgh area, please oh please oh please!!!! And bring Schuyler! And Julie!
My area IS the majority right now on the survey...um, that is, Eastern U.S. as far down as D.C....but Western PA counts, right? Right?
ANYway, good luck and have fun! I am VERY excited for you :)
Yeah, Pittsburgh, Pittsburgh! (Were you at the JournalCon that was held here, like, a hundred years ago, that I only found out about after it happened?)
Yes, liana, I considered Pittsburgh part of the Northeast too.

I wouldn't usually comment, but I'm from GR too...weird.
Add in my vote for the Northeast. You're coming to Philly, RIGHT? And by "Philly" I mean "Rosemont" so Liz and I can take you out for drinks.
i realise vote is closed but can i vote for north east *cough cough* England *cough cough*, or is that to far afield? I suppose if you get the hawaii trip, it would be a good excuse to visit hawaii for us..... "i have to go, to meet an author"
I like it. I am always trying to get my husband to go with this look. But he always shaves it off-woosh!--too!
Congrats on the book in hand!
