Holy Crap, Revisited

The Passion of the Fucknut

...might just be a gigantic anti-Semite after all, I really don't have a lot to say to you, other than this.

Told you so.

Still, he did better than Nick Nolte.

Who the heck smiles in their booking photo? What a creep...

He's really flipped his lid.

Is that the picture from the drunk tank where they put him? Yeesh.

As for who smiles in their booking photo, apparently drunks and Tom Delay.

He's lost it completely. Yeah, like the revelations are all that surprising? Not.

(I remember reading your post way back when and feeling a click of recognition when you called Passion a snuff film. I've said that to several other people since and you can see them pause, then realize it's accurate.)

First, Jas, Tom Delay doesn't smile. He sneers and smirks. I've met him in person, trust me.

Second, Rob, please, enough with the monsters.

All I have to say about Mel is: in vino, veritas.

Seriously. The wine made him say it? Give me a flipping break.

I've never spouted off things I really DON'T think when drunk. It's all things I think and say anyway, or stuff I usually bite back but really mean.

Does he really think none of us have ever been drunk? With a tongue hinged in the middle, flapping at both ends?

I'm an elegant drunk, of course, but PUHleeze. Not stupid. Not even when drunk.

i never liked that creepy, beady-eyed guy with the giant head. never understood how he got any "sexiest" lists...

Yeah, I was pretty offended. He wants the Jewish community to 'help him' and forgive, but no thanks. Ick.

That mug shot is freakin great! Hey, why not smile, it's going to stick with you forever. I love it when people at in the upper echelon of society lose their shit.

oh and also...i cannot *stand* it when people say "oh i just said that because i was drunk - i didn't really mean it". that is the most ridiculous of excuses. being drunk just removes all your filters, so you are *indeed* telling your true thoughts. does anyone truly believe that his being drunk somehow caused him to become temporarily anti-semitic, or to spout things that he'd never before said or felt? please.

Loved your caption for Mel's drunk shot :) I think he did lose his shit completely, and no matter how many times he's denied it by now, I think we all know, like father, like son. So much for him being a "good Catholic."

As a Scot, I'm embarrassed that he played William Wallace in Braveheart, and that millions of people worldwide associate him with our country.
It's enough to make you wipe off the woad that covers half of your face, so it is......

I have enjoyed Mel Gibson's work in the past. I was totally offended by Passion of the Christ, and I'll never watch it again.

As far as being an anti-Semite, I don't know. I think that Gibson has shown some signs of mental illness for some time, and my extensive work with addicts -- four years in a chemical dependency ward and many, many more in homeless shelters -- tells me that he faces some serious barriers and challenges.

And even if he is an anti-Semite, I don't know how that will affect his future work. I mean we have confessed murderers and thugs in all sorts of entertainment and they do just fine. And don't get me started on Woody Allen who is making more movies than ever.

I remember when I used to think Mel was funny and even (shudder) attractive. I didn't see Passion of the Christ, and have no intention of ever doing so.

What made me give up on Mel were two statements he made when he was promoting the Passion of the Christ. First, he wouldn't disavow or express disagreement with his father's Holocaust denials. (No tip-off for anti-semitism there, huh?) Second, he believes his wife is going to hell, even though she's a good person (his words), because she's not a Catholic. I know that's part of the Catholic dogma, but it just horrified me to hear him say that about the woman who has had seven kids with him, and whom he claims to love.

The DUI arrest makes no difference in how I feel about Mel, as I'd already decided that I would never pay to see any of his movies ever again.

What a fucknut.

I too watched Passion and could only think it was the most anti-semitic film I've ever seen. I was not surprised by his reaction with the police. Sad that someone has to hate any group of people like that.

Protocols of the Elders of Zion is a helluva read. I especially enjoyed the recipe section. Blintzes Marinated in Christian baby Blood, yum!
