It's Monday, which this time means I'm at SXSW in Austin (the Prodigal Son returns!) speaking on a panel, and also that there's a new post over at Support for Special Needs. Are these two things related? Maybe a little.
If you're in Austin today, it's not too late to come say "Hi, Rob!" or "You suck, Rob!" or whatever. I'm cool either way.
Hello Rob,
ReplyDeleteMaybe you already know about Salman Khan, maybe not. He was on 60 Minutes last night, and it just occurred to me that what he does might be an interesting and productive model for educating your daughter, my granddaughter, and others.
In gratitude for your insightful writing,

I ran into your blog somehow. Then I thought about the post on assisted communication, and ran in and used (slightly illegally) the internet at work to show my laryngectomee patient all about how his iPhone could talk for him.
ReplyDeleteYou made his day. The process of either learning to use an artificial larynx or "burp speech" is really really difficult and usually incomprehensible for the first several months......
