Trek

This is via Danielle, whose fun disposition belies the fact that she has written some amazing stuff. She's a medical student who is about to be unleashed on the world, and when I read entries like this one (my personal favorite, among many), I for one am glad.

  1. I follow both blogs daily..and I thought it was an awesome, and definately worthwhile tribute, to you and your little one and her monster. What a great thing for Danielle to do, to take on that fun, creative task of documenting her trip to the bookstore.....how cool was that!

    That is a great video!

Although she does make me feel a little bad. :(

When faced with a similar 20-30 mile drive I let my fingers to the driving right over to Amazon and should get my book sometime this week!

  3. I tried. Well, not THAT hard. I went to Crawford Doyle in Manhattan, but for my own purposes. (Yes, Virginia independent book stores can survive. Well one anyway.) I went to the Borders in Time Warner Center. But all I got was a picture of the screen on the info machine at the latter. The clerk at C-D (who owns the place I think) was apologetic, though. Especially after flubbing the spelling of Schuyler. Ha. If he thought I was going to overcome my dyslexia and my own trouble with her her name for HIM!

Damn, you have awesome friends. ("Apply Dramamine patch here" cracked me up.)

Went to my local B&N to look for the book (although I sadly can't afford to buy it right now) and after I found it on the New Biography shelf, I realized there was something sticky on the floor and I was momentarily unable to move.

Can't think of anywhere I'd rather stop and stay for a minute.

  8. Yeah,

Went to the nation's capital to get my copy, and they didn't have any either, had to go the amazon way.

Either they really like your book up here Rob or they just don't carry it.

BTW it's a 100 mile or so drive to this place that didn't have any from my home, ohh the rugged north.

  9. I purchased mine on Saturday at B&N after reading the excerpt in People magazine. I got the only copy they had. I'm already up to chapter 15, and I don't want to put it down.

That was fun! I love the little "yaaaaay!" at the end. I'm running into the same problem as Danielle - my local B&N AND my local Borders weren't carrying it. And I, too, want to buy it in person instead of on-line, so I can take a picture of it on the shelves, take a picture of me buying it, and send it to you Rob! I shall have to take a trek too, I think. Wish I was video savvy...
