Stalkerpalooza '08: Lone Star Edition

SCHUYLER'S MONSTER
Originally uploaded by Citizen Rob.
For those of you living here in the fine, fine Republic, I am happy to announce the dates and details of my Texas book tour. Details can be found over here, but I'll be appearing in Plano, Dallas, Arlington, Houston, Austin and San Antonio.

I know it's early yet, but I wanted to give any deranged readers time to make room in their freezers for my head.

I share because I care.

(Seventy-six days and counting...)

UPDATE: Look, I got a write-up in Unfair Park, the blog affiliated with the Dallas Observer. The Observer is the weekly alternative paper in the Dallas area, and I've been reading it since I was in college, back when former Dallas mayor Laura Miller was a troublemaking Observer reporter. Showing up on the blog was a happy surprise.

  1. SEVENTY-SIX??? That's insane...and so exciting. I cannot wait to hold the book in my hand, Rob. Congrats, Mr. Fancy Pants Author.

Also, can I just say that I love that picture of Schuyler more every time I see it...are you still happy with it? But, has she magically aged like 10 years since then?? These days she looks at least 12, not a sweet almost-8.

  2. You know, it's funny, but I'm trying not to get sick of it, since it's on everything. She does look a lot older to me these days, even though that was only a year ago.

Have a great time. We'll miss you in the midwest but I'll try to catch you on your TV appearances, which are sure to come. I can't imagine how amazed you must be that there are only 76 days left. How exciting!

And now I'm sorta wishing I lived in Texas. ;P

  6. I'm so excited you're coming to San Antonio. We actually get Mr. Fancy Pants Author to come here. I will definitely be there! And I'm sorry to disappoint B&N but I can't wait almost a month to buy the book.

  7. I put your Austin appearance on my calendar under 'type of event: stalking.' Hey, this is a triumphant return, is it not? I think I accidentally stalked you at that Arboretum store before!

I really appreciate you timing your Houston reading to my sister's due date. Now I'll have an excuse to fly down, and won't have to admit it's for a book signing by "someone I know from the Internet."

  9. It's pretty tempting to go to that first appearance, but I'll certainly be there in Austin.

I'm going to search my archives to see if I can find the email I sent you years ago where I said something like 'I don't know for sure the world will recognize your talent, but I think it will'. If I find it, I'll print it out and ask you to autograph it.

I've never been more correct since the last time I voted for Reagan.

Whee! See you on March 1st, then! I might only be able to wave hi, but I will be there.

  11. I know your publisher isn't giving you a tour, but I still hope you have enough friends in Chicago that you'll come this way regardless.

  13. That's fantastic, Rob, I hope it goes really well! The cover looks fantastic.

I'd stalk you at the Houston one, or show support, or fend off stalkers (whichever seemed (a) most needed or (b) most interesting) but wow, that not only requires driving TO Houston (which I try to avoid at all costs) but THROUGH Houston.

I don't think my auto insurance covers that. ;)

But I wish you well (and safety).

    Robert Wilonsky too! Very nice.

I'm going to be smug for a minute and say, despite your scads and scads of photography available, what picture did the Observer pick? Which one? Tell the nice people where you three were headed that day, my friend.
