    I truly feel that reading his books made me a better human being.

    So sad, even though it always surprises me when certain important writers or philosophers are still alive in the first place.

    I quoted him in my son's baby book... where it had a spot for a letter from mom:
    Hello, babies. Welcome to Earth. It’s hot in the summer and cold in the winter. It’s round and wet and it's crowded. At the outside you’ve got about a hundred years here. There’s only one rule that I know of, babies: Goddamn it, you’ve got to be kind.

  7. That's so sad; I loved his work (especially the way he trashed Cohoes, NY in 'Breakfast of Champions')

    This is the first I've heard, and it's three days later. That's what you get for moving to a country that doesn't have CNN.
